The FitBit’s latest waist trainer may be a gimmick, but there’s a reason why so many fitness gurus are on board.
The Fitbit Zip has been a hit among hipsters in recent years, as it’s been marketed as the hipster’s favorite activity tracker.
And yet, as much as you may love the new model, you probably shouldn’t be using it.
Here are the five reasons why.
It’s Not Fitbit’s Style Icon The Fitbits latest offering is a more modern take on the Fitbit Surge.
It sports a sleek design that’s similar to Apple’s latest smartwatch, the Apple Watch.
The biggest change is that instead of a barometer, the Fitbits new wristband is equipped with a barometric altimeter.
In theory, this would allow you to measure your heart rate and temperature without needing to wear a band.
That’s great, but not exactly the kind of innovation that Fitbit is known for.
And for most people, that’s a bad thing.
It Requires You to Wear A Band With Your Smartwatch This isn’t the first time that Fitbits has introduced wristband-based fitness tracking.
Back in 2014, the company launched the FitBand, which came with a wristband that measured your heart rates, temperature, sleep, and activity.
In fact, the original FitBand only had a wrist band, not a heart rate monitor.
The new FitBand comes with a band, but it requires you to wear it with your smartwatch.
That means you’ll need to wear the band to track activity without the FitBit.
That would make tracking your workouts even more cumbersome.
It Costs $199 Fitbit has been one of the biggest health-tracking startups in recent memory, so you might be surprised to learn that the FitBIT Zip still requires you pay for its pricey accessory.
The company will only be charging you $199 for the FitBands wristband and the optional FitBand Plus accessory, but that’s not all.
The $199 price tag isn’t a surprise to anyone who’s used a Fitbit Band before.
For starters, you’ll be paying for two bands at once, meaning the price will double.
And since the new device includes a heart-rate monitor, you’re paying for a much higher-resolution display.
It Doesn’t Track Activity You won’t need to spend an extra dime to get your workout on track.
Instead, the new Fitbit will track your workouts without you having to look at the clock or look at a timer.
And unlike the FitTrack, the device will not require you to use a wristwatch, which is a major plus.
It Doesn’t Connect to the Internet Fitbit says the new tracker uses Bluetooth technology, which means it’s compatible with most smartphones, but some are still not compatible.
It does, however, support the Internet and Wi-Fi, so if you’re connected to the web, you should be able to track your steps, distance, and calories without needing a Bluetooth-enabled device.
That said, you might want to make sure that you’ve got a Bluetooth earpiece or earbuds attached to your smart device.
We don’t recommend the FitTidies newest model, either.
